Alexander (“Alex”) David Jones, 31, of Crete, Illinois, passed away suddenly and tragically at his home Wednesday, November 16, 2022.  Born February 25, 1991, to Jennifer (Jones) Lucas and Richard J. Potter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.   Alex attended Parkview Elementary and Forest Trail Middle School and graduated from Rich East High School in 2010. He also attended Prairie State College.  Alex is survived by his son, Cayden Jones; Jennifer Lucas, mother; Eric Lucas, stepfather; Cynthia (“Cindy”) Weidinger Potter , stepmother; Robert Lucas, brother; Emilia Perozzi, sister; Amanda Lucas, sister; Tyler Perozzi, brother; Caitlyn Weidinger, stepsister; Shiela Walden, grandmother; Robert Walden, grandfather; John Jones, grandfather; Ronald Barwegen, grandfather; Kathy Barwegen, grandmother; Robert Potter, grandfather; Barbara Potter, grandmother; John Walden, uncle (Sabrina Walden); Christopher Walden, uncle (Dawn Walden); Melissa Olvera, aunt (Ken Olvera); David Jones, uncle; Michael Potter, uncle (Janet Potter); Kenny Clemons, uncle (Tammie Clemons); Christie Clemons, aunt (Justin Golden); James Barwegen, uncle (Natalia Barwegen); cousins Maddie Potter, Sarah Clemons, Aleah Clemons, Joey Clemons; Kai Perozzi, nephew; Evan Saulsberry, nephew; Sage Lucas, nephew. Alex was preceded in death by Richard James Potter, father, Gertraud Potter, grandmother; Charles Weidinger, grandfather; and Harriett Weidinger, grandmother. Alex was employed by TTX as a skilled carman and welder. He was also an avid pool player who led his team to multiple regional championships and participated in national tournaments in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a loving, gentle father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend who was loved in turn by all whose lives he touched.

    I don’t know how to say goodbye Alex! 💔 When I joined the APA I hadn’t played in 22 years. Chalk is Free was the first team I joined and everyone on the team became my family. 3 years I played on ur team and we became so close u were like a son to me…..u absolutely touched our hearts 💕 💞 and lives so deeply and no words can describe how much u mean and meant to us all! I love u darlin until we meet again! Rest in peace until that time and we will be ready to rack it up! Love always
