Betty Lorraine May passed away peacefully in her home beside her loving daughters Catherine Mullen and Carol Voigt on Saturday October 30, 2021 in Park Forest, IL.  She was 93 years old.  Betty was born on July 20, 1928 in Chicago, IL.  She married the love of her life, Clyde E. May, Sr., on July 2, 1947. She lived on the south side of Chicago until moving to the suburb of Park Forest in 1988.  Betty worked in the hospitality industry and was also a Sunday school teacher.  She was passionate about cooking, baking, playing bingo, and caring for her entire family.  She was the ultimate angel and matriarch of the family.

Betty is survived by her children Clyde May, Jr. (Dina), Carol Voigt (Gene), Dianne Sebben (Rodger), Catherine Mullen (d. Michael), Daisy Sharp (Gordon), Debra Niemczyk (d. Terry), Jane Sapp,  James May (Laura) and  Betty is also survived by her grand children Gene Voigt, Sonja May, Brenda Richie, Donald Voigt, Paula Paradiso Frigo, Stephanie May, Brandie Del Real, Julia Varnedore, Cammy Spila, Charles May, Colleen Mullen, Christopher Niemczyk, Christina Spencer,  Carrie Sapp and her step grandchildren Mary, Elizabeth and Danny Pahr.  She also has many beloved great and great-great grandchildren.  

Betty is preceded in death by her parents John and Mae Crisman, her children Charles and Rose May, as well as her siblings Rose, Marion, June, John, Ray, Richard, Benny, James, Carl, Ralph, Stuart, and Clifford. 

A visitation will take place on Wednesday November 3, 2021 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm CST with services and mass at 7:00pm at the Crete Funeral Home located at 1182 Main Street in Crete, IL.
