Carol A. Bartels (nee Liesenfelt), 74, longtime resident of Crete, Illinois passed away July 27, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Alan W. Bartels; loving mother to Brooke Joerms, Jennifer Bartels, Lesley Bartels and Amanda (Shaun) DeCamp. Cherished grandmother to Kaylie, Alexis, Juliana, Emma, Caroline, Brice, Reid, Aden and Olivia. She was preceeded in death by her parents Leslie and Therese (nee Korem) Liesenfelt; and one sister Eileen Libb. Survived by one sister Linda Eason; three nieces and one nephew.  Carol graduated from Marian Catholic High School and was a devoted employee of St. Mary Church in Park Forest. She dedicated her life to family, faith, tradition and community. Carol loved Hallmark Christmas Movies, wine and rescue dogs. She was passionate about her Catholic Faith as a loyal member of St. Mary Church. She enjoyed teaching, volunteering and sharing her faith with others.

Visitation will be Monday, July 31st from 3pm until 8pm at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street Crete, Illinois. Leaving funeral home at 10AM for a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 1st  at St Mary Catholic Church, 227 Monee Rd Park Forest, Illinois.
