Heartfelt sympathies to Aunt Cathy’s immediate and extended family, who were the center of her life. She spoke of all of you with such sincere pride and unconditional love. But you already knew that.
I am very grateful to Cathy for the joy she brought to Uncle Bud (Adolf Markl), my mother Linda’s older brother, and for bringing him such daily happiness. I’m sure she extended his time on this planet because he didn’t want to leave her, and I know he had the best possible final years of his long life because of her. He loved her so much, and Cathy’s care of him as he aged was selfless.
I have stayed in touch with Cathy over the years by telephone, text, and e-mail, and I saw her for the last time in person in August 2018 when my boyfriend John and I visited her (from south Florida) at her home. We went to the cemetery together to see Uncle Bud’s grave, and Cathy showed us her own designated cemetery plot, joking that she would be buried at Bud’s feet. She had a wonderful outlook and sense of humor, and no matter how many times I asked her how she was doing–living with lung cancer–she never once complained. She was happy to be alive because of you, her family.
May all of you find some measure of peace in her passing, as she would want for you, and that she has herself now found back together forever with her beloved Bud.

So very sorry to hear of Cathys passing. She was a wonderful neighbor to my folks for many years and we go way back even before she married Bud. My Mom has her “coffee buddy” back. Til we meet again, Cath.
