Charles R. (Charlie) Bedwell age 87 of Chicago Heights, Illinois passed away on July 18, 2015. Charles was born in Linton, Indiana on September 11, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Zora (nee Shepard) Bedwell. Charles leaves behind his beloved wife Lou Ann (nee Herda), son Kevin (Margaret), grandsons Kyle (Melissa) and Devin (Jillian Hein). Dear brother in law to Dorothy Herda (Howard) Smith. Charles served in the U.S. Navy before moving to the Chicago area in 1946. He was employed for 43 years at Illinois Bell, Ameritch, and AT&T as an engineer and budget manager. Charlie was an avid model airplane builder, flyer and was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics for over 50 years. Charles also enjoyed woodworking, oil painting and was a member of St. Kieran Church.Visitation Wednesday, July 22 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Kerr-Parzygnot Funeral Home 540 Dixie Hwy.
