Constance M. Mazur (nee Wydajewski) age 81 formerly of South Holland, Illinois, and longtime resident of Crete, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023, with her husband and sons by her side.

Connie was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 8, 1942, to Gust and Helen (nee Raczkowski) Wydajewski. Constance was united in Holy Matrimony to Harvey Mazur on April 25, 1964. Connie and Harvey spent their honeymoon and first year of marriage at Fort Lee in Virginia where their first son was born.

During the week, Constance had a career in office work, including becoming office manager for a window blinds and shades company; but for over 30 years, weekends were spent at the lake house in Michigan sailing aboard the pontoon boat, swinging on the porch swing, enjoying a cocktail, and entertaining with their immediate and extended families.

Connie was proud of her Polish heritage and her Catholic faith. She became a hockey fan when Karl played the game and went on to be a big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. Connie enjoyed going to the casinos and even drove away with a John Deere Gator! She enjoyed raising their miniature schnauzers: Chipper, Barney, and Molly.

Constance is survived by her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Harvey; loving sons Karl (Karen) Mazur and Craig (Susan) Mazur; devoted grandchildren Tom (Emily) Becker, Lindsey (Jake) Carus, Jenna (Mike) Kuhn, and Kendra Mazur; fond great-grandchildren Izzy Carus, Logan Becker, Grace Carus, and Baby Becker due in 2024; and cherished sisters Nancy (Jerry) Seida and Cindy (late Tom) Powers.

Connie was a strong woman with a quiet demeanor. She supported those around her never thinking of herself; her favorite song was “Climb Every Mountain.” Her shining spirit will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated if you had a Mass said in remembrance of Constance, or donated to the Alzheimer’s Association or theDementia Society of America in her name.

Memorial gathering and Mass will be on Friday, June 23rd  at St. Liborius Church, 37th and Halsted Blvd., Steger, Illinois from 9AM until time of mass 10AM.  Info:  (708) 672-7600.  Arrangements entrusted to Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete,  Illinois.
