Obituary
Danny B. Davis Sr. age 68 of Valparaiso, Indiana formerly of Crete, Illinois passed away on September 8, 2024. Danny is survived by his beautiful and dedicated wife, Coleen. He was a devoted father to Megan Nova, Danny Jr, and Shelbey Collins; a proud and loving Papa to his eight grandchildren, Dylan, Nathan, Mason, Addison, Braden, Kinadi, Ivy and Macon; and one great granddaughter, Lucy. Dan was fondly adored by his sister-in-law, Judy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Macon and Mildred; brothers, Macon Jr and Earl; and sister, Anita.
As one dear friend and co-worker said: “For one of the most stubborn people I have ever met, you were truly the most loyal and soft-hearted as well. You gave much more to this world than your humble heart ever let you realize. This world has lost a truly awesome and genuine soul.” – Darla Brown.
Dan lived a full life; surrounded by friends, colleagues and family. For those lucky enough to have known Dan, find peace that he is with The Lord and look back fondly on all of the memories created. Dan was always there to lend a hand or crack a joke, to chat about last night’s football game or be a partner for a round of golf or game of bags. Let us remember the good times that were shared; turn on some music, make a joke and watch everyone crack a smile and laugh; stand around the tv and cheer on the football team (preferably the Bears) and love with a deep passion as Dan had done each day of his life.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 3:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois. Info: 708-672-7600.

I’m very sorry for your lost. My heart and prayers are with you and your family. I pray that you will find peace soon. Take one day at a time.

Dan always had a way to make me laugh no matter what
Crazy problems we had
always the first to offer help
Even if it had to be his way
He was a good friend and
I learned a lot from him
Over the years
He will be missed
RIP Danny
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. May you hold cherished memories in your heart and find comfort for the days ahead.
