Diana D. Hook (nee Hedges) age 86, of Crete, Illinois passed away on August 26, 2026.  Cherished daughter to the late Elmer and Dorothy (nee Brady) Hedges.  Loving mother to Christie Nevel and Michelle (Jim) Moniak.  Beautiful grandmother to Eric Elza and Jeffrey Elza; great grandmother of 4.  Dear sister to Gerry (late William) Reichert and Georgette (Don) Seehausen. Preceded in death by her husband Charles Hook.  Diana worked for Dr. Collin’s at Suburban Heights Medical and was a homemaker.  Diana for many years was a Dolly Parton impersonator for Hollywood Look A Likes.  Diana will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Visitation Tuesday, September 1st from 3pm until 8pm at Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.   Funeral Mass at 10AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.    Internment: Washington Memory Gardens Cemetery, Homewood, Illinois.    Info: (708) 672-7600.

    Well, what can I say about ole Diana. At times she treated me as her own child, letting me hang out at her house, possibly feeding me, I just don’t remember. I do recall doing reconnaissance trips with her a few times. I probably got compensated somehow, maybe a bag of chips or something like that. Maybe a book of matches, who knows. In any case, nice to have known ya.

    In addition, such a good spirited woman who always had a kind word to say about everyone she met. I remember hearing stories of the joy she expressed when meeting her future son in law for the first time. The words she said escape me, but they did bring a smile to my face. Indeed, she will be missed.
