Doris Farmer, age 95, born in Laveda, Texas on July 24, 1923 to Hubert and Lottie Pittman.  She completed 2 years at Paris Junior College at the age of 18 and soon after, came north to Chicago Heights with her mom and dad.  She was a secretary and a golfer par excellence.  Long time member and former officer of VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Chicago Heights, then in Steger.  Past officer of Carpenters Retirees Club and member of Wilmington Recreation Club for 44 years, where she and Roy camped every weekend.  Celebrated 70 fantastic years of marriage to Roy in August.  Best mom ever to Pat (Chet) Foster and Dennis (Lynne) Farmer.  Devoted Grammy to Justin and Collin (Krystal) Foster and Ron (Monica) and Mark Celmer.  Surrogate Grammy to Todd, Samantha and Jesse Foster and Jeff, Tim, Ari and Alex Markle.  Great Grammy to Jeremy, Ben and Danielle Celmer and Michael and Mason Fitzpatrick.
