Obituary
Elizabeth Anne Dunlap, (also known as Betsy or Liz), age 70, of South Chicago Heights, Illinois, formerly of Crete, Illinois, passed away on February 15, 2022.
She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Dunlap, dear sister to Randall (Suzanne) Dunlap, the late Richard Dunlap, Alexandra (Robert) DeVries, and Russell (Brent) Dunlap. Cherished niece, aunt, great aunt, and cousin to many. Companion for many years to Ronald Annunziata.
Some of you remember Betsy from our days growing up in Crete. “Bets” was lots of fun with a quick wit and a kind heart. Family time meant so much to her, and she loved to attend family parties and celebrations. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, cared a lot about others, and had a tremendous love for children and animals. Betsy had a great laugh and loved to sing along to “The Oldies.”
She cheered on the Crete Bulldogs founded by the Dunlap family in memory of our brother, Rick. She was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and watched and kept score of each game dressed in her Cubs gear.
Betsy graduated from Crete Monee High School in 1971, attended Prairie State College, worked at The Elizabeth Ludeman Center, and at McDonald’s. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. We will miss our conversations and good-natured banter back and forth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crete Funeral Home 1182 Main Street Crete, Illinois, on June 18, 2022, from 10 AM until the time of service at 2 PM. Inurnment to follow to Adams Cemetery, Crete, Illinois.
