Herman Carcelli III of Las Vegas at the age of 62 sadly passed away on February 11th, 2023 under the care of Nathan Adelson Hospice.  Born on September 25, 1960 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Herman and late Wanda (nee Biel) Carcelli and grandson to the late Mary E. Carcelli.  Dear family friend to the late Betty Anne Martello.  Herman graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Beloved father to Mary (Dan) Ekhoff.  Loving papa to Jaxon, Annabel, Jameson and Stella.  Cherished brother to Anne (Allen) Mattio, Mary (Frank) Guiliani, Josephine Carcelli, Margaret (Daniel) Schultz.  Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Herman served proudly in the United States Navy. Herman’s had many occupations such as being a casino dealer at the Stardust, a radio dispatcher for the Chicago Heights Police Department, K5 Trucking and Affordable RV.  He loved to be outdoors, gardening, picking wild greens, betting on horses at Balmoral Racetrack, making a stop in Old Town Tap, playing card games, the love of Golf and special talent of being an excellent chef in the kitchen.  Until his last breath he was a faithful servant to our Lord Jesus Christ; he is looking down on us and smiling at us from peaceful heavens from above. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Herman’s memory to South Suburban PADS, Fortitude Community OutReach or PKU Organization of Illinois.

My condolences to Herman’s surviving family members. I attended Mt. Carmel grade school with Herman. The best memories. Such a cute, compact, good kid. I was able to actually speak to him about 3 years ago when he needed information on how to order the San Rocco cookbook. He called the San Rocco hall information number and we were surprised we connected again since last meeting in 2009. I still have our grade school pics. He reunites with his family and friends. He will definitely be missed.
