Joseph L. Casson age 72 longtime resident of Crete, Illinois passed away on July 7th, 2023.  Loving husband of 40 years to the late Evonne ‘Bonnie’ Read (2018).   Father to Vallarie Pickens, Lisa Schmidt and Jennifer Stanley.  Proud grandfather to 5 and great grandfather to 5.  Dear brother to David Casson, Wendy Beres and Donald Casson.  Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.  He was a devoted member of the Crete Masonic Lodge and Hazel Chapter OES.

Visitation Wednesday, July 12th  from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois. Funeral service on Thursday at 11AM at the funeral home.  Interment:  Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Illinois. . Info: (708) 672-7600. Cretefuneralhome.com

    Jen and Zach, we are so sorry for your loss. We were happy to have had a chance to meet your father/grandfather and discuss the relative merits of stuffed mushrooms. 🙂 The care and attention you paid to him in his final months is a testament to your deep love for him, and an example to us all. May God comfort you with the promise of the resurrection through His Son, Jesus Christ.

    Please accept Linda’s and my deepest condolences on Joe’s passing. He was a good friend and as he would say “Good People”. I am sorry, but our health issues at present prevent either of us from attending the wake.
