Kenneth G. Schaefer, 83, formerly of Tinley Park, IL. and most recently residing with his daughter in Monee, IL, sadly passed away on August 11, 2023 at his daughters residence in Monee, IL. He was a kind, quiet man who really enjoyed the simple things in life; loved and respected by many.

Kenneth was born on July 30, 1940 to George Schaefer and Bernice (Paska) Schaefer. He is survived by his brother George (Mary) Schaefer and his sister Christine (Thomas) Ryan.

Kenneth retired from Andrew Corp. in 1995.  He grew up in Lincoln Estates, Frankfort, IL of where he held many fond memories. He enjoyed time spent on his computer and in previous years metal detecting. Anyone who knew him knew his love for his puppy dogs, Chloe being his most recent.

Kenneth Married Cheryl (Button) Schaefer who preceded him in death on June 16, 2016. They shared many years of love and memories together.

He had four children with Deena Lamble: James (Crystal) Schaefer, Kevin (Julie Ball) Schaefer, Greg Schaefer (late), and Kelly (Michelle) Schaefer.

He had two children with his loving wife Cheryl Schaefer: Jennifer Schaefer and Julie (Kevin Boerst) Schaefer.

He was a loving grandfather. He had a total of seven grandchildren.

He will be cremated, and following his wishes there will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, donations to organizations that support dementia and Parkinson’s research and treatment would be appreciated in his memory.

Condolences

I lived on 78th Avenue, as did Kenny. We went to school at Gatter School. Kenny was a very nice guy all his life. I am sorry for your loss.
