Leonard H. Rhein age 78 of Monee, Illinois passed away on June 20, 2024.  Beloved husband to Bernadine (nee Hornick); loving father to Bernadine (Michael) Sedor and Leonard (Jessica) Rhein.  Cherished grandfather to Kaitlyn and Kevin (Brooke Leonard) Sedor, Zachary and Nathaniel Rhein.  Beautiful brother to Robert Rhein and Judith Vock. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Leonard was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country in Vietnam.  He retired as a Local 597 Journeyman Pipefitter after 40 years.  Leonard loved, supported and coached many youth football players for over 45 years as well as being on the Executive Board for the South Holland Jets and Crete Bulldogs Youth Programs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Leonard’s name to the Vietnam Veterans Fund or the Wounded Warriors Project.

Visitation Thursday, June 27th from 2pm until 8pm at Monee Funeral Home 5450 Wilson St. (at Governors Hwy.), Monee, IL 60449. Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30AM at the funeral home.  Interment:  Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.  Info. (708) 534-0016.

    It was a pleasure knowing you all of these years. You had the ability to make people laugh and did not really take yourself too seriously. Your efforts on and off the Wildwood Improvement Association Board were always appreciated. You will be missed by your Cable Lake ‘family.’
