Loura M. Gyger (nee Hodge) age 79 of Steger, Illinois passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 28, 2022.  Loving wife to the late Edward (2011); beloved mother to Roxiann, Tom (Paula), Sally (late Jim) Schavey and Tina (Josh) Arnold.  Cherished grandmother of 9; great grandmother of 11.  Loura was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Lucille (nee Berd) Hodge and a brother Tom Hodge.  Loura spent time doing charity work and was a dedicated member of the Polish American Community Fair (PACF), Chicago Heights Park District and TOPS.  Loura worked at Joliet Arsenal (made bullets & TNT for the Vietnam War).   Everyone that knew her will remember her humor (life of the party).  Number 1 in her life was her children; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Loura was always the life of the party! She was funny, honest and loving. My first memory was being a part of that party…her wedding party. She married my Godfather/cousin Ed Gyger and I was blessed to be their flower girl. Family was always so important to her. She will be missed, but her family & friends will have cherished memories forever. My sincere sympathy to Roxianne, Tommy, Sally, Tina & their families. It’s time for Loura and Ed to polka again! God Bless!!!

    Aunt Loura what can I say. You were always my favorite aunt! I will miss your smile, Your laugh and your jokes. I will NEVER forget the plastic covering on the furniture
    Nor will I forget the answer you gave me to a question I asked you when I was a
    young teenager as I still use your answer whenever I can.
    My thoughts are with Roxiann, Tom, Sally and Tina as they will truly miss you as will I.
