Lyle Robert Craig, 53 passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, at Hickory Hills Country Club in Hickory Hills, IL.  He was born March 16, 1970 in Calumet City, Illinois to Robert and Betty Craig of Calumet City, Illinois.  He was a proud resident of Calumet City, Illinois and was a 1988 graduate of TF North High School.  He studied Turf Grass Management at Joliet Junior College Agriculture/Horticulture.  He was engaged to Sarah E. (Dunlap) Berry.  He was a Golf Course Superintendent at Hickory Hills Country Club in Hickory Hills, IL.  Lyle was loved by so many people and took pride in his golf courses he was superintendent at including Willow Run Golf Course in Mokena, Illinois and Lincoln Oaks Golf Course in Crete, IL.  Lyle always had the ability to make anyone smile.  He is survived by his older sister, Amy Craig of Satellite Beach, Florida, his fiancé Sarah (Dunlap) Berry and her children Cullen, Noah, and Mallory of Beecher, Illinois.  Family and friends are invited to Tuckaway Golf Course in Crete, Illinois on January 21, 2024, from 1-5 PM for a memorial to celebrate Lyle’s legacy. There will be a memorial service at 3:30 PM to reminisce and honor the life of Lyle Robert Craig.  In lieu of flowers, there is a fund set up for Sarah and her children Cullen, Noah, and Mallory at First Community Bank and Trust PO Box 457 Beecher, Illinois 60401.

    Deeply sorry to hear of Lyle’s passing. I have great memories of coaching him on the Cross Country team at TF North. I’m glad we connected on Facebook to see him in his career that he enjoyed. My sympathy to his family and friends. God Bless, Kyle.
