Mary Ripiani: Age 97, passed away peacefully at her lifelong home. Beloved mother to Nancy Ripani. Cherished grandma to Louis Wortel (Katie Wortel), Sam Wortel (Tanya Klein); Adored Great Grandma (“GG”) to Christopher, Madelyne, and Kamren; Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary was a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights. She was a phenomenal cook and the proud owner of Ripani Grocery Store (Chicago Heights) and Papas Pasta (Steger).She was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and loved talking politics, sharing recipes, and spending time with her beloved family. Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Salvatore Ripani, her parents Guiseppina and Michelangelo Schrementi, and her six brothers (John, Mike, Tony, Jim, Joe, and Sam Scrementi) She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Visitation on Friday, November 12th from 10AM until the time of mass at 2PM at Kerr-Parzygnot Funeral Home 540 Dixie Hwy. (at Joe Orr Road), Chicago Heights, IL 60411. Interment: Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, IL. For info: (708) 754-0016.
