Mary D. Cannata (Nee Markey), 65, of Olympia Fields, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 1st. Mary was born in Chicago on July 3rd, 1951.Mary is survived by her husband, Dr. Dominick Cannata; Children, Gina (Kevin) Clinnin, Jonathan (Tracey) Barlog, Elizabeth (fiancé Michael Schroeder) Cannata and Emily Cannata; Brother Martin (Karen) Markey and Sisters Colette (Tom) Smith and Trish (John) Ott. She was the loving Grandmother of Charlotte, Nathan, Henry, Jackson and Ellie, as well as a loving Aunt to many. Preceded in death by her parents Emmett Markey and Eleanor (Gatrell) Markey. A loving teacher and educator, she co-owned The Childrens Room Daycare Center and later taught at St. Agnes School.Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, September 6th at Kerr- Parzygnot Funeral Home, 540 Dixie Highway in Chicago Heights. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00am at St. Agnes Church in Chicago Heights.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marys name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
