Obituary
Michael Allen Moutrey, 61, of Grant Park, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 17 at Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, IL., 708-672-7600. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. directly following visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded with private inurnment at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL. Memorials may be made to the family’s wishes.
Mike was born April 26, 1959 in Harvey, IL at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, the son of Glenn and Sandra (nee Woodward) Moutrey. He retired from Bimba Manufacturing after working 39 ½ years in the packaging department. Mike had a love for classic cars, bowling, antiquing and collecting bar memorabilia. But his greatest love was for his family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Monica (Nathan) Schwarzentraub, Beecher, grandson Carson Schwarzentraub, Beecher, sister Lynn (Nigel) Letherby, Manhattan, nephews and god-children Dylan and Liam Letherby, Manhattan, fiancé Joy Walker, Grant Park, honorary step-children Tim (Michele) Walker, Beecher, Jenifer (Jeff) Mendrala, Manteno, Jason Walker, Morocco, IN, Karli (Matt) Jankauskis, Dyer, IN, Bryan (Jennifer) Walker, Demotte, IN and honorary step-grandchildren Olivia, Nathan, Lillian, Archer, Abigail, Ellie and Owen. Mike is also survived by his special Aunt Lorraine Elliott, Cousin Russ Moutrey and many other loved cousins. Online condolences may be left for the family at cretefuneralhome.com.
