 Michael “Mickey”” William Mullen peacefully passed away in his home while asleep next to his beloved wife, Catherine “”Kate””, on July 6, 2018 in Park Forest, IL. He was 69 years old.Michael was born on November 19, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He married the love of his life, Catherine F. Mullen, on December 25, 1978 at midnight mass. The Mullens lived on the south side of Chicago until moving to the suburb of Park Forest, IL in 1988.Michael worked in the construction and trucking industries for the majority of his professional life. His passions included race and show cars, music, and entertaining. Mickey was the life of the party and would charm you with his antics.He sadly succumbed to major illness in 1998 which eventually lead to the decline in his quality of life as he developed several severe ailments.Michael is survived by his wife Catherine  Mullen, daughter Dr. Colleen Mullen, mother-in-law Betty May, sister-in-law Carol Voigt, several sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a plethora of beloved family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, William; mother, Elisabeth; brothers, Thomas and Patrick; sister Karen; and son, Scottie.A memorial wake will take place on July 9, 2018 from 2:00pm to 9:00pm at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street in Crete, IL. Mass and services will be held July 10, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Park Forest, IL. A private cremation ceremony will take place there after. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Michael’s life.    “
