Obituary
Norman H. Blievernicht, age 90, of Crete, Illinois, passed away on March 18, 2022. Norman was born in Crete, IL on December 25, 1931, the first son of Henry and Hilda Blievernicht (neeBiesterfeld). Norman and Deloris Johnson were united in marriage on November 30, 1952. Soon after they were married Norman was deployed to serve his country in the Korean War.
Norman was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Crete, IL. He had a long and honorable career at Thrall Car Manufacturing Company of Chicago Heights. Norman loved honoring his Savior Jesus Christ through service to his church and others. He loved his family and always taught them about Jesus. He also loved golfing, fishing, camping, family reunions, and card games.
Norman was the beloved husband of Deloris Ann of Crete; father of Lynette Blievernicht of Waukesha, WI; Barry Blievernicht (Kim) of Mound, MN; Mark Blievernicht (deceased); Matt Blievernicht (Tina) of Lowell, IN; and Beth Schmugge (Peter) of Marana, AZ. Proud grandpa to Mikayla, Justin, Luke, Travis, and Paige.
He is also survived by siblings Virginia Boicken, Richard (Leah Rae) Blievernicht, Mary Ann (Chuck) Hussmann, and David (Jean) Blievernicht as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Jay Blievernicht, and brother-in-law Glenn Boicken.
Norman will lie in state on Monday, March 21st from 3:00P until 7:00PM at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1393 Elizabeth Street, Crete, Illinois. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Crete, IL.
