Lester S. Lattz, age 81, of Crete, passed away on December 7, 2020.  Loving husband to Ruth (nee Buchholz); beloved father to Julianne White and Jeff (Emily) Lattz.  Cherished grandfather to Brandon, Trevor, and Spencer Guthrie, and Grace, Ryan, Faith and Jacob Lattz.  Beautiful brother to Harold (Tawny) Lattz, Wendell (Pam) Lattz, Myrna (Richard) Van Swol, Betty Pattenaude, and Peggy (Bruce) Biesterfeld.  Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Lester retired from Alpha Construction Company in E. Hazel Crest and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #150 for more than 55 years.  He was a member of the American Legion, member of Zion Lutheran Church in Crete, and served in the U.S Army from 1960-1966, in Germany, as an operator of an armored personnel carrier.  He was a die hard White Sox fan, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Robert ‘David’ Ireland age 58 resident of Monee, Illinois passed away surrounded by his family on December 8th, 2020.  Beloved husband to Barbara (nee Minahan); loving father to Jennifer Carlson, Christopher Carlson, Jacqueline (Steven) Polivka, Justin (Sherry) Ireland and Ashley (Iridian) Bustos.  Cherished grandfather of 17; great grandfather of 2.  Beautiful son to Robert and Barbara (nee Harrison) Ireland.  Fond brother to Nancy (Jeffrey) Lahm, Thomas L. (late Chrissy) Ireland, Naomi (Charles) Hilton and Stephen (June) Ireland.  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  David worked as a forklift driver for Carl  Buddig Meats and was a member of the Local #710.

Barbara Ann Marusin (nee MacHalica) age 71 longtime resident of Monee, Illinois passed away on November 16, 2020.  Loving wife to Robert; beloved mother to Michael (Elizabeth) Marusin.  Beautiful grandmother to Margaret and Poppy.  Barbara worked for over 40 years as the church secretary for St. Boniface Church in Monee; she will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Charles 'Col Chuck' Housh

Housh, Charles N. (Col. Chuck) and Imelda (Mel) of Monee, IL

Mel passed away at the age of 84 on Nov. 20, 2020, Chuck passed away at the age of 91 on November 28, 2020. They had been married for 64 years.  They ran Col. Chuck’s Auction in Monee until 2005. Prior to the auction Mel worked as an X-Ray Technician for South Suburban Hospital.   Col Chuck was an Auctioneer for       years as well as active in the Park Forest Rotary. He also worked at Montgomery Ward for several years. Chuck was a veteran of the United States Air Force prior to his marriage to Imelda.

Those grateful for sharing in their lives are their children; Johanna Housh, Barbara Smiejkowski, Thomas (Melody) Housh and Kenneth (Chris) Housh and Son in Law Chester Zadlo:  Grandchildren, Charlie, Stephen, Andy, John Zadlo, Gregory, Christopher Smiejkowski, Michelle Housh, Ethan and Isabelle Housh  and 6 Great Grandchildren, Chuck’s brother Raymond (Nancy) Housh, many nieces and nephews and the auction family.

 Mel was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. They were also preceded in death by their son David Housh, grandson Joseph Zadlo and Son in Law Greg Smiejkowski.

Dennis D. Banicki age 71 longtime resident of South Chicago Heights, Illinois passed away on December 4, 2020.  Beloved husband to Katherine (nee Kristina); loving father to Ray Apking, Dale Banicki and Andy Banicki.  Cherished brother to Christine (Ronald) Rotondi and the late Andrew (Pam) Banicki, and Uncle to several nieces, nephews and one great nephew. Dennis had a fur baby, Lola and grand fur baby, Stagger Lee.  Prior to Dennis retiring, he was employed by Andy’s Courtesy Liquors, Dolci Trucking and Faso Excavating.  Dennis was well known in the south suburbs for his willingness to help out anyone in need, share a good story and his candor. Fireworks on the 4th of July will never be the same and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Audrey Irene Cervak, a longtime resident of Crete, passed away November 10th, 2020.  Loving wife of 61 years to the late Robert C. Cervak (2009).  Preceded in death by her parents Allen and Rose (Eliasek) Schultz, sister Valeria, sisters and brother-in-law Delores and Charles Cervak,  Rose and Georg Cervak, brother Allen Schultz, and son Dana.  Loving mother of Kyle (Sue) Cervak, Andrea (Rick) Johnson and daughter in law Jean Cervak.  Proud grandmother of Gabrielle (Dan) Hlavek, Matt (Alina) Cervak, Corey (Samantha) Johnson and Lindsay Johnson, as well as great grandmother of Eleanor Johnson and Marcos Cervak.   Caring aunt to Gary (Karen) Cervak and sister in law Betty Schultz.  Besides raising her children and providing a warm, loving, spotless house, she enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and entertaining.  She loved traveling with her husband and friends, boating vacations with her family and cheering on the Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs and Bears.  Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on December 2nd, 2020 at 10:30AM with services for family only.  As per her final wish to throw one last party, a celebration of her life will take place later when times permit.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.  Audrey is now at peace and very happy to be reunited with her Robert, who she missed dearly.
