John Joseph Sasuta, a man synonymous with joy, laughter, and family, was born on May 11, 1949, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He lived a life full of fervor, hobbies and, most importantly, family. His life was a celebration, and so shall be his memoir.
John was a person of diverse interests. He sported an enthusiasm for fishing, a fondness for auto racing, and cooking. His culinary skills delighting all who tasted his creations. His vocabulary was unmatched due to the crosswords he did everyday. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family and friends, often accompanied by a refreshing drink, a flurry of laughter, and stories to last a lifetime. In his garage you were always sure to find John with a cold beer and warm welcome.
John loved sports, especially watching football. Bowling and softball played a role in John’s early life, reflecting his competitive spirit and his love for having fun. But, amidst the laughter and games, the core essence of John’s life was his family. A loving husband to Faye Sasuta, a caring father to Lisa Ricci and John Lawrence Sasuta, a proud father-in-law to Dave Ricci, he was the epitome of love and care.
John experienced the joy of being a brother to Daniel Sasuta, Mary liakos, Georgiana Easton, and Bernadine Cameo. His mother Ann Sasuta, showered him with love and values, shaping him into the wonderful man he was.
The sparkle in John’s eyes would shine the brightest around his grandchildren. Damon and Evan Alexander, David L. Ricci, and Mia Sasuta, his little bundles of joy, filled his life with happiness and satisfaction.
John breathed his last breath on September 30, 2023. However, he continues to live in the hearts of his loved ones. His laughter will echo in the family gatherings, his love will always be felt in the warmth of his home, and his memories etched in the hearts of all who knew him. Let us celebrate John Sasuta, a man who taught us to live, love, and laugh unconditionally.
May he rest forever in peace.
