Perry T. Krebs age 58 of Portage, Indiana formerly of Crete, Illinois passed away on February 17, 2016.  Beloved husband to Janice (nee Papa).  Dear step father to Barry (Jennette) McFarlane. Beautiful son to Edna Krebs (nee Mennenga) and the late Albert  Krebs, Sr..   Loving brother to Katherine Krebs and the late Albert Krebs III.  Fond son-in-law to Sam and Patricia Papa.  Grandfather to Gwen, uncle and brother-in-law to many.  Perry was a forensic metallurgic engineer for the former US Steel and Bethlehem Steel.  Perry was an Assistant Boy Scout Leader and Past President of The Duneland Homebrewer Club.  He won Indiana State Fair Blue Ribbons for his Homebrew beer.  He also loved golfing, fishing, cooking and listening to Old Time Radio.  His great sense of humor and wit carried him through life€™s obstacles and was an inspiration to the people around him because he did not let his lack of sight hold him back.Visitation Wednesday, February 24 from 2:30PM until 7:30PM at the Crete Funeral Home,1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.   Lying in state on Thursday from 12 Noon until the time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at 1^st Presbyterian Church, 900 Thomas, Chicago Heights, Illinois.  Interment:  Presbyterian Cemetery, 21^st and Chicago Road, Chicago Heights, Illinois.  Info: (708) 672-7600.   Cretefuneralhome.com
