Richard B. Allen age 89 of Crete, Illinois passed away on February 28, 2017.  Beloved husband to Donna (nee Kay); loving father to Paul (Laura) Allen, Christopher (Debbie) Allen; Steven (Patricia) Allen, and Eric (Jamie) Allen.  Cherished Grandfather to Nick (Kari) Allen, Michael Allen, Morgan, Conner, Brooke and Cole Allen, Taylor and Reed Allen, Ila, Areli, Everleigh and Ellis Allen. Great Grandfather to Emmett and Hudson Allen.Prior to his college career Richard was a proud member of the United States Army.  After his army service, Richard graduated from Albion College in 1951 with a degree in Chemistry and Business.For over 43 years, Richard owned several businesses all serving the Graphic Arts industry most notably Industrial Oil and Varnish (ultimately known as Iovite, Inc) as well as Ampac Inc.  He also had a great love of photography which led him to his second career in portrait photography which he operated for over 15 years.  In addition he was the €œde-facto€ team photographer for the UIC Flames Women€™s Gymnastics team.  Earlier in his life he was an assistant scout master of the BSA troop #132.Memorial visitation and service on Saturday March 4^th from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 noon.  The visitation and service will be held at Crete United Methodist Church, 1321 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.  Arrangements entrusted by Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.  Info (708) 672-7600.  Cretefuneralhome.com.In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and welcomed at the Crete Pantry, 1367 Wood St. Crete, IL  60417
