Theodore €˜Ted€™ A. Griffin age 78 of Park Forest, Illinois passed away on October 19, 2017.   Beloved husband to Barbara (nee Sass); loving father to Deb (Kevin) Engel and Tom (Krista Prestek) Griffin.  Cherished grandfather to Kristian, Annie, and Theo Engel and Elliott and Alice Griffin. Preceded in death by his parents Fred and Dorothy (nee Prince) Griffin.  Ted taught for 37 years in the Steger School District as a music, choir and computer science teacher.  In retirement he became a proud member of the Momence Car Club.  Through the club, his teaching and his involvement in church music, he touched many lives.  Everyone that knew him was well aware of his many passions, which ranged from genealogy to antiques to The Bears.  But nothing compared to his love and devotion to his family.In lieu of flowers, we have set up a scholarship fund that will help send a student to a music camp every summer to honor Ted€™s commitment to music education.Please make donations payable to:Steger School District 194Administration Center3753 Park AvenueSteger, IL  60475Visitation Friday, October 27^th  from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Crete Funeral Home,1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.   Lying in state on Saturday, October 28th at St.Paul€™s UCC, 5323 Margaret Street, Monee, Illinois from 10AM until time of service at 11AM.  Info: (708) 672-7600.   Cretefuneralhome.com
