Velma C. Blanton  age 80 of Crete, Illinois passed away on February 15^th at St. James Hospital.  Velma was born on May 4^th, 1933 to George and Mary Etta Arnold.  She is survived by two loving sons Gary (Dolly) Blanton of Nevada and Glen (Rebecca) Blanton of Peotone. Cherished grandmother of Jason (Marsha), Joshua, Jeremy (Cassandra), Jarrod, Jessica, Alison, Bethany, David and Sarah; great grandmother of six.  Dear sister to Dora, Dorothy, Mardene Arnold, and Lucille Cousins.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Velma was preceded in death by her loving husband Glen Blanton (2001); her parents; her siblings Welty, Berle, Tevis, Gertie and Edith.  A son George Blanton and a great grandchild.In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Crete Lutheran Schools.Visitation  Thursday February 20 from 3PM to 7PM at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main Street, Crete, Illinois.  Funeral Friday at 11:00AM at the funeral home being officiated by Rev.
