You have left us too soon, Cousin Douglas. But we were so fortunate to enjoy many opportunities to reconnect as adults at family get-togethers. It was always obvious that your grandchildren held a special place in your heart. And my mom had a special place reserved for you in her heart, as her only nephew. You can rest in peace knowing that your beloved animals will be well taken care of by Jan’s dedication to them and her love for you. You will be missed forever.

Thanks for your service in Vietnam. Thank you also for helping out all the animals you did through the years, and especially, your sister Christine’s feral cats. You will most certainly be missed. You left us too soon.
Your passion for animals seems to be a family trait. Bless you and your family, you are now with your mom, dad, and your sister Christine.

My dear brother Doug. You left this world way too soon and you will surely be missed. We were so close growing up. You always protected me as well as teasing the heck out of me. I remember when I had scarlet fever and was quarantined in my bedroom. You peeked in and made jokes and our dear mom would get so upset. It was all in fun. I still have your letters you sent me when you were in Vietnam. I treasure them. Our summer vacations to Lake Lawn , cottage 355, are some of the happiest memories held in my heart. Our dear cousins would join us up there and that made it even more exciting. Your devotion and love for animals was one of your great passions, along with your dedication to caring for your family. We had so many wonderful vacations and holidays as a family. You tried to help me learn math; you were a wizard and I just could not get it. I helped you with spelling and English. You played the saxaphone… the dogs would go hide. Ha. You did love cars; I remember when you finally got your corvette.Thank you for your huge heart .Bless you and keep you. Tell Mom, Dad, and Christine and all our furry friends I love them. Until we meet again . Love from my heart. Sister Kate
